Andrew McCann will be teaching a small group Alexander Technique class for up to three participants in his studio in Andersonville beginning May 1. Classes are intended for students college-age and older.
Small group classes are an excellent way to get an introduction to the Alexander Technique. They are small enough to receive individualized instruction and feedback while the group setting gives an opportunity to observe and learn from others.
The focus of classes will be developing skills in observing and changing movement and postural habits.
A typical class will include attention on the accuracy of your body awareness, guided movement, constructive rest, and activity work—in which you learn to apply the Technique to a specific activity (such as running, public speaking, or working at a computer).
Classes include four weekly 1.5 hour classes and 1 private lesson, scheduled separately.
